D & C 84:77
77 And again I say unto you, my friends, for from henceforth I shall call you friends, it is expedient that I give unto you this commandment, that ye become even as my friends in days when I was with them, traveling to preach the gospel in my power;
Dear Family and Friends,
We have been traveling! We are in Exeter and the Second Ward. That means travel. Doing over a hundred miles a day is common. We got just under 1,000 this week. We are fed a lot more in Exeter, but that means more time to travel and see more people since we don't have to cook or clean up. As a result we are getting more visits and more miles.
The Rogers Family lives in the outskirts of Exeter. He goes around the world doing the flooring for the temples. He has many stories of the miracles that happen with working on the Lord's buildings. He was the one who replaced the carpets in the church when the bishop was shot two years ago. They have us to dinner each week and they have stake and ward parties there often. We have helped with two or three of them. The ward party was Saturday and we went. We took some pictures of some of the activities. Since Sister Sheffer was in a skirt most of the pictures are Elder Sheffer. No, we did not do any of the water activities. They were staged. We decided our insurance out here wasn't good enough to take the zip line or the slide. We could of though according to the Doctrine and Covenants.
D&C 61:22
22 And it mattereth not unto me, after a little, if it so be that they fill their mission, whether they go by water or by land; let this be as it is made known unto them according to their judgments hereafter.
