Phones and rice

                                                                                                            March 26, 2012

Dear Family and Friends,

This week has been very different. We have been trying to shift our attention to another ward. With the change it is kind of like starting over. We had to work extra hard to find opportunities to teach lessons. Most of what we did was go around introducing ourselves and getting referrals.

We heard from Merrill that he will start a new job with IBM/Panasonic doing IT support between Singapore and Japan. He says that it will be a good opportunity to work for a company that will be recognized in America so when he returns it will look good on his resume.

Bert is also starting a new job in Salt Lake City. He is excited for the new opportunities and responsibilities.

Our phone survived being baptized last Saturday. We went to the internet and read how you were to vacuum the water out. Don't use a blow drier and put it in rice. After 36 hours the phone was working. We reactivated the Utah track phone so we could call in reports and receive directions. On Monday the Utah track phone rang. It was Sister Sarah Sheffer's mission mom. She needed some medical information. The Utah number was the only one she had. We were so happy that the Utah phone was reactivated. We know it was a tender mercy. Someone said it was a miracle that the mission phone is working. Another person said, "If God needs that phone to work He can make it happen."  It was such a blessing to have all the contact information back and not need to buy another phone.

We are learned many things and loving what we are doing. We are still very tired at the end of the day. We love you all.      Elder and Sister Sheffer

We are excited for conference. What a blessing to have a Prophet and Apostles to give us guidance for the next six months.
